Our car with driver and the guide will meet and welcome you at the border town of Htee Khee. This town is recently rebuild by Myanmar Government as the purpose of building the Dawei Deep Sea Port project in the west of Dawei which will be the biggest port in Southeast Asia connecting the west world to East. This road and border town will be connecting with Bangkok in Thailand via Kanchanaburi. Drive from Htee Khee to Dawei will take you on the winding and a bit bumpy road condition about 4 hours; on arrival in Dawei direct transfer to your hotel for refreshments. Rest of the day will be at free leisure time and evening exploration in Dawei on your own is possible.
Breakfast will be served at the hotel; together with your guide in the morning, we will start our sightseeing in Dawei with the busy central market and the colonial downtown area. Dawei, known as Tavoy in colonial time is the capital of Thanitaryi Division; the town was one of the first cities settled by the English after the first of the three Anglo-Burmese wars, as result the towns have long history and interesting architecture building of colonial era. After that we will visit to Shwe Taung Sar Pagoda and Paya Gyi museum to see collections of bronze coins, vase’s, portraits and large wooden ancient Buddha images are displayed. We will enjoy the sunset from the top of the mountain Sapar Taung.
Breakfast will be at your hotel, depend on flight time, and transfer to airport for your flight to Myeik. On arrival in Myeik meet you guide and proceed for your hotel check in. After refreshments, we will visit Theindawgyi Street with old monasteries where local people used to meditate. And then we will proceed to riverside wharf where many wooden fishing boats are lying on muddy riverbank, we will be onboard on a private small wooden boat to visit Pahtaw Phatet Islands with big reclining Buddha and local crab farm working place. Continuously we will visit to the ship dockyard area where you will see local style wooden fishing boats maintaining or building all by human workforce. We will head back to Myeik, in the evening we will enjoy the panoramic view and breathtaking sunset overview the islands from Phayargyi Pagoda.
Breakfast will be served at the hotel, before transfer to airport for flight to Kawthaung; we might make a short visit to the biggest fish market which host one of largest fish markets. On arrival in Kawthaung, you will be welcomed by our representative and proceed for your sightseeing in Kawthaung with bustling market located at waterfront-lined with many teashops, at the strand road area. Kawthaung is the busy border town with charming atmosphere; it is also major gate way for safari trips to hundreds of pristine islands in Mergui Archipelago. Then we will make our visit to the famous pagoda of the town Pyi Taw Aye on the top of the hill overview the town and near islands in Andaman Sea. We can also take a look to the iconic statue of King Bayinnaung brandishing a sword, stands at the crest of a hill on the cape at Victoria point. In the evening we will drive up to the hill locally known as 555 mountain to enjoy spectacular sunset.
Breakfast will be at the hotel, transfer to airport / jetty for your onwards departure from Kawthaung!
