Domestic flight from Yangon to Dawei; upon arrival welcomed by our representative and transfer to your hotel. We will start our sightseeing in Dawei after refreshments; it is the capital of Thanitaryi division in Southern Myanmar formerly known as Tavoy in colonial time. Your guide will escort you to downtown area to see colonial buildings with beautiful architecture, continuously we will visit to the Shwe Taung Sar Pagoda and Paya Gyi museum where lots of bronze coins, vase’s, portraits and large wooden ancient Buddha images were displayed. In the afternoon we will visit 74 meter long reclining Buddha and view point of Sapar Taung to enjoy panoramic view over surrounding city area and the sunset.
We will start prepare for our trip to visit the Maungmagan Beach about 40mins, before we head to the direction of the beach area we will take a visit to riverside bustling market are where local people busy with daily-life, selling vegetables, households products and variety of fresh fishes. On the way to the beach when we reach to the village area, we will make a short stop to visit to the primary school of the village and meet the children and teachers. Rest of the day is your own leisure at the beach - enjoy the sea, sun and sand.
Enjoy your free leisure time at the beach until transfer to Dawei in the afternoon; on arrival in Dawei, we will proceed to hotel for check in. The rest of the day will be your leisure time (possible to explore the town/evening market area)
After breakfast in the morning at the hotel we will start our adventure overland drive to Myeik about 8 hours (157 miles), on the way we will make a short stop in small town Palaw; the small town area of Dawei ethnic people and famous for local products of fisheries and other local forest crafts. This overland journey will take on the narrow, winding and a bit bumpy road condition through Southern plateau to reach the destination. Once we reach to Palaw for refreshments stop, it’s almost to the two third of the trip and we will continue to MYEIK across the bridge through the rolling hills of the Southern Myanmar. While enjoy the green and beautiful landscape - we can make short-stops along the way to explorer serene scenery of paddy fields, hidden rural village areas with daily local lifestyle. On arrival in Myeik, direct transfer to the hotel and rest of the day will be at free leisure!
Today exploration will start with the biggest fish market in the area hosting the major economic of Myeik. After that we will proceed to riverside wharf where many wooden fishing boats are lying on muddy riverbank, we will be onboard on a private small wooden boat to visit Pahtaw Phatet Islands with big reclining Buddha and local crab farm working place. Continuously we will visit to the ship dockyard area where you will see local style wooden fishing boats maintaining or building all by human workforce. We will head back to Myeik and visit Theindawgyi Street with old monasteries where local people used to meditate and in the evening we will enjoy the panoramic view and breathtaking sunset over the islands from Phayargyi Pagoda.
After breakfast at the hotel in the morning, car and the guide will be ready for your transfer to jetty for local ferry boat trip upstream to Tanintharyi River. The boat ride will take you bout 3.5 hours, but never let you get bored because you will be quite overwhelming by the way of local people lives along the way as the boat make each stop at a village, they are busy with local products trading (cargo carrying) and the snack-seller (vendors) going on and off. This legendry village of Tanintharyi was invasion by British colonial after the first Anglo-Burmese War in in 1824. The whole region of Tanintharyi Division was name after this village of Tanintharyi as it once was the capital of southern peninsula. This river trip will offer you the surrounding area of beautiful mountains along the river and fresh breeze refresh you while you enjoy your book on sundeck. On arrival in the village, we will go for sightseeing to the local village school area; your guide will take you to the old town area of post office, telegraph office and the village monument statue. Your way back to Myeik will be in the afternoon by off road SUV through the paddy fields and Thatch palm trees area until Myeik. On arrival in Myeik, direct transfer to the hotel and refreshments. Rest of the day will be at free leisure time!
Transfer to airport for domestic flight to Kawthaung. Upon arrival to the Kawthaung Airport, you will be will come by our representative and proceed to you your hotel. After refreshments we will go for short sightseeing in the area to waterfront-lined where lots of local restaurants and tea shops are located. After that we can take a look to the bustling market area with local people busy with variety of imported products from Thailand. In the afternoon we will head up to the Pyi Daw Aye pagoda to enjoy beautiful sunset over the in Andaman Sea.
